The Italian architect ,
Giancarlo Zema, is specialized in semisubmerged architectonical
structures. His Italian studio, Giancarlo Zema Design Group, located in
Roma, has developed skills in Marine parks, Naval architectures and
Industrial design. Since 2004 he is a director of the Semisubmerged
Architecture Studio, located in London, UK. This international studio is
developing innovative floating and semisubmerged architecture for Arabian
customers.
He belives that in the next years architecture will be developing on water
sites and people will be more and more living floating experiences.

TRILOBIS
65:
Part yacht, part submarine,
Trilobis is a non polluting semisubmerged dwelling unit. It is optimal for
living in bays, atolls and maritime parks.
The special technologies will be developed with collaboration of European
Space Agency.
The Trilobis 65 will be built by the end of 2004. |

JELLY-FISH 45 :
Jelly-Fifh 45 is
a floating dwelling unit for six people. Designed by the Italian architect
Giancarlo Zema, this innovative floating and semisubmerged home consists
of five levels connected by a spiral. The globe at 3 meters under the sea
level lets anyone enjoy the submarine world.novantes. The Jelly-Fish 45
will be built at the end of 2005.

FROND VILLAGE 30
, a semisubmerged village in
Tahiti, is a new idea for a new floating experience in Tahiti. This
artificial colony is composed of thirty floating dwelling units. All
units are 70 square meters with a circular structure as a palm leaf. The
big leaf on the back side in laminated wood will be sun-moving as a sun
flower and make an excellent mechanical beak sun. All units are realized
on two levels connected by a spiral staircase. The main floor above sea
level is for both day and night time. At 3.0 meters below sea level,
completely submerged, there is the underwater observation globe. |

NEPTUS 60 is a cliff-house
that has been made to live in harmony with nature. It allows you to
completely enjoy the location of the cliff, to look the sea and the
underwater life. The 4 floors are connected by a winding staircase that
overlooks the sea , and by a glass lift. The four main elements are the
living area, an observation deck hanging at 20 meters above sea level, a
docking for little boats, and an underwater globe, a room at 10 meters
below sea level.

LAKE WASHINGTON is a beautiful five acres lake situated in a
green park area. This artificial lake is composed of several parts. One
semisubmerged restaurant for 300 people. A big hall 8 meters under the
water level that allows marvellous 360 degree sights of underwater life.
One dock area allows four Trilobis 65. Docking submarine for little two
places submarines. Exposition and commercial areas. A unique place to
discover the lake's flora and fauna.

NYMPHAEA
is a floating restaurant with underwater view. It draws its inspiration
from water plants with beatiful flowers. The circular structure (flower)
of 18 metres diameter is interrupted by a distribution of 15 circular
elements (petals) in laminated wood. The three levels, connected by a
staircase which goes up a cylindrical structure (pistil), hold 175
people and the underwater floor is at 4 meters under sea level
